Established since 1973 in Clerkenwell, I have been interested in vintage wrist watches and horology from the age of Thirteen, my uncle was a professional watchmaker taught by his gran-father, before world war 2 he served as an apprentice at Rolex, and worked for companies such as J.W.Benson, Garrard and Smiths of England.
My uncle was called up to serve his country around 1942. uncle was a technician with the 7th armoured division \' Desert Rats\' his primary job was to scout the dessert and locate any deserted enemy tanks and hardware , He would enter the tank and collect all clocks and instruments, take them back to camp to strip, inspect and evaluate the enemy technology then report his findings back to Hq .
My uncle would tell me stories about his younger days and time in the forces ,he passed on his knowhow to me. the art of restoring and repairing all forms of timepieces , that started my journey through apprentices and workshops around england and finally Clerkenwell london ec1. opening up a small trade workshop and eventually opening Antique watch company 19 Clerkenwell road in 1973.
Now my son Jonathan is running the family business with his own 22 years experiance along with my 50+ years of watch knowledge. We are indeed one of londons last authentic family owned watch shop Please feel free to look us up on Google as our reputation is spotless or come along to our store for a chat.
